SNEAK PEEK PARENTING AND COVID DOUG COATSWORTH
Sneak-Peek of the full PREVENTION PORTRAIT with Doug Coatsworth, PhD with great advice for parents to address and manage COVID-19 in the family. We had the opportunity to ask him, among other things, to give some advice to parents and families considering the coronavirus and how the pandemic has changed lives, routines and family dynamics and the best ways for parents to take on these new challenges.
Doug Coatsworth, PhD is one of the most relevant researchers in family-based substance use prevention and his research also focuses on aspects of risk and resilience and the development of competence in adolescence and emerging adulthood, so he is particularly interested in how family-focused interventions promote adolescent skills and characteristics that help prevent problem behavior during these age periods.
Dr. Coatsworth serves in the Scientific Advisory Board of APSI and is the developer of the Family Based Curriculum of the Universal Prevention Curriculum developed by APSI in commission and with the funding by INL - US State Department.
