This course provides an overview of the science that underlies evidence-based prevention interventions and strategies, and the application of these effective approaches in prevention practice. A special focus will be given to Utah SHARP Data and its wide relevance and application to prevention practice in Utah.

 

Who should take this training?  Any person or representatives of agencies that engage in substance use prevention activities and processes.  We encourage partners and stakeholders to attend!

Course Learning Objectives


• Describe the application of prevention science to prevention practice and to evidence-based prevention interventions

• Summarize and apply rules of ethics to professional behavior in prevention programming.
• Review the professional knowledge, competencies and skills needed to select and implement evidence-based prevention interventions and policies
• Discuss the Implementation Cycle and identify the implementation steps in each phase
